Hey ya'll so 
had an idea about a project in the distant future called, 'My Friends in Distantland.' It's about a girl named Cathryn (or Catie for short). Her motivation is that her mother went missing after a huge argument with her. Catie feels she has to do as much good as possible (ergo, she can't say no to any problem that comes her way) in order for her mother to come home. The protagonist is an eight year old girl who lives in a small wooden house in the woods with her blue, one-eyed, stuffed rabbit named Hop-Hop. In this world, the creatures and other people act like children, often belligerent children, and demand the girl to solve all their problems for them no matter how ridiculous. There are a multitude of strange creatures and people ranging from friendly, not-so-friendly, and very ambiguous. (Copied and pasted from Wolfie's Notes)
So with such an idea in the early concept works that gives me such creative license. So my idea for this girl is that she's so wracked with guilt outta arguing with her mother that now the world looks to be a very dangerous place. Her only solace is the little bunny Hop-Hop. Her only hope of trying to survive on her own is by helping out everyone that she meets. As for the shadow thing...ambiguous. Perhaps it's a representation of her fears threatening to consume her, or maybe it's to reveal a antagonist that is a shadow wolf that wished to eat her. Who knows

I like the designs and color scheme a lot!!!
The style for Cathryn is pretty close to what I sketched in my sketchbook. I like your clothes better than the clothes I designed, much more fitting for the world. I like the ribbon in her hair, but I want to keep my design of her hair (it covers one of her eyes, the one opposite of Hop-Hop's). As for Hop-Hop himself, I want his fur to be blue too. I'd like for him to have both ears, but maybe one is more roughed up than the other.
I like the idea behind Cathryn's personality. It makes sense to her character and I also wanna throw a bit of an inferiority complex in there too. As for Hop-Hop, I picture him to be more bombastic and, sometimes, quite cantankerous. Hop-Hop doesn't take crap from anyone, in fact, he always sticks up for Cathryn when someone gets tough on her. As for the shadow wolf for the antagonist... oooooooohhh, I love it, I love it, I love it~! I think of it as a manifestation of her guilt and fear. It's around just about every corner and always knocking on Cathryn's door at night.
I've also got a few other ideas for characters:
Question Fox (ambiguous)- Though he appears to be an ordinary fox, he has the ability to speak, but he only talks in questions. As a conversation with the Question Fox deepens, the questions become more and more complex and more difficult to answer. It seems to grow larger every time the phrase "I don't know" is said in a conversation. He also refers to himself as "we" and "ourselves" with no one knowing why.
Madame Sneer (not friendly, but not evil)- A school-marmish older woman that lives just down the road from Cathryn's house. She has an obsession with manners and absolutely hates questions. She often stacks books atop Cathryn's head and promptly states "you fail" if one is dropped. God help you if you enter her garden.
Mr. Dandylion (friendly)- A well dressed and gentlemanly lion who lives in a quaint little house by a river. He's always pleasant and polite even if his logic is somewhat strange at times. He's always delighted to have guests over and has tea and biscuits on stand-by (don't mind that the biscuits are a bit stale).
Mr. and Mrs. Bigbucks (ambiguous)- The richest people in Distantland. They don't care about anything besides their wealth and making more money. Mr. Bigbucks owns a factory, but no one knows what it produces. Oddly, Mr. and Mrs. Bigbucks are almost never in the same room together. The only time they are is during social gatherings, but they are never standing next to each other. Their only form of communication to one another is through notes delivered back and forth by their old maid, Mrs. Primsby.
Dr. Science (friendly)- The most brilliant mind in Distantland. He spends most of his days producing gadgets and doodads with inordinately long names. He doesn't ever seem to rest to the point of even inventing things in his sleep. Though he is typically seen as an inventor, he does delve into other realms of science such as medicine and botany. He's always willing to lend a helping hand, however he is typically foiled by his absent mindedness and short-sightedness. He also seems to have a secret addiction to stinky cheeses.
